The Center for International Security and Cooperation (CISAC) is Stanford University’s hub for researchers tackling some of the world's most pressing security and international cooperation issues.

Georgetown University’s Center for Security Studies (CSS) in the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service offers an expansive curriculum, in-depth research and critical dialogue on security issues. Former Director Michael E. Brown created the Center in 2000. The vision of the center established by current Director Bruce Hoffman is to produce a new generation of analysts, policymakers, and scholars fully knowledgeable about the range of international and national security problems and foreign policy issues of the 21st Century.

The Center for Security Studies (CSS) at ETH Zurich is a center of competence for Swiss and international security policy. It offers security policy expertise in research, teaching, and consulting activities. 

Center for Strategic and International Studies

Established in Washington, D.C. over 50 years ago, the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a bipartisan, nonprofit policy research organization dedicated to providing strategic insights and policy solutions to help decision-makers chart a course toward a better world.

The Centre for International Studies (Ce.S.I. - Centro Studi Internazionali) was founded in Rome (Italy) by Andrea Margelletti, in 2004. The Institute's research activity is centred on national and foreign policy dynamics of countries of major interest for Italy, especially in the wide Middle East, Africa, Asia and Balkans, with a particular focus on security and defence, terrorism, counter-terrorism and intelligence.

Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, is an independent policy institute based in London. The institute carries out independent and rigorous analysis of critical global, regional and country-specific challenges and opportunities.

The Combating Terrorism Center is an independent, privately funded, research and educational institution situated at West Point that contributes to the academic body of knowledge and informs counterterrorism policy and strategy.

ISW is a non-partisan, non-profit, public policy research organization.

The International Centre for Counter-Terrorism – The Hague (ICCT) is an independent think and do tank providing multidisciplinary policy advice and practical, solution-oriented implementation support on prevention and the rule of law, two vital pillars of effective counter-terrorism.

Founded in 1996, the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT) is one of the leading academic institutes for counter-terrorism in the world, facilitating international cooperation in the global struggle against terrorism. ICT is an independent think tank providing expertise in terrorism, counter-terrorism, homeland security, threat vulnerability, risk assessment, intelligence analysis, national security and defense policy. 

International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation 

The International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation and Political Violence (ICSR) is an independent and non-partisan research centre based in the Department of War Studies at King’s College London. The aim is to educate the public and help policymakers and practitioners find more intelligent solutions in dealing with radicalisation and political violence.

The Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI) is an independent think tank serving as a resource for government officials, business executives, journalists, civil servants, students and the all wishing to better understand international issues. Founded in Milan in 1934, ISPI approaches international affairs in a sound pragmatic manner, monitoring geopolitical areas as well as major global trends. Comprehensive interdisciplinary analysis is ensured by close collaboration with specialists, academic and non-academic, in political, economic, legal, historical and strategic studies and an ever-growing network of think tanks, research centers and universities in Europe and abroad.

ITSTIME – Italian Team for Security, Terroristic Issues & Managing Emergencies, is a research center of Department of Sociology of the Catholic University of Sacred Heart, Milan. Our multidisciplinary approach allows us to develop and conduct research focused on security issues from different perspectives. ITSTIME addresses both theoretically and empirically the new challenges in the post 9/11 world.

The Handa Centre for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence

The CTC Sentinel is a monthly, independent publication that leverages the Center’s global network of scholars and practitioners to understand and confront contemporary threats posed by terrorism and other forms of political violence.

Global Security Studies (GSS) is a premier academic and professional journal for strategic issues involving international security affairs.

 

Homeland Security Affairs is the peer-reviewed online journal of the Naval Postgraduate School Center for Homeland Defense and Security (CHDS), providing a forum to propose and debate strategies, policies, and organizational arrangements to strengthen U.S. homeland security.

 

The IJCV provides a forum for scientific exchange and public dissemination of up-to-date scientific knowledge on conflict and violence.

 

The Journal of Conflict Studies is dedicated to the publication of scholarly research in the field of low-intensity conflict studies.Topics Include:revolutionary or civil war, guerrilla warfare, terrorism, counter-insurgency and counter-terror operations, propaganda and psychological warfare, intelligence activities, media coverage of such conflict, peacekeeping, foreign/military policy, strategic studies as they relate to the field.

 

The Journal of International Security Affairs is the flagship publication of the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA). JINSA is a non-profit, non-partisan educational organization based in Washington, D.C. The Journal of Middle East Media (JMEM) is the first peer-reviewed journal dedicated exclusively to research on media in the Middle East. The Journal of Strategic Security (JSS) provides a multi-disciplinary forum for scholarship and discussion of strategic security issues drawing from the fields of intelligence, terrorism and counterterrorism studies and protection, among others.

The aim of JTR is to provide a space for academics and counter-terrorism professionals to publish work focused on the study of terrorism. Given the interdisciplinary nature of the study of terrorism, high-quality submissions from all academic and professional backgrounds are encouraged.
