The Center for International Security and Cooperation (CISAC) is Stanford University’s hub for researchers tackling some of the world's most pressing security and international cooperation issues.
Georgetown University’s Center for Security Studies (CSS) in the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service offers an expansive curriculum, in-depth research and critical dialogue on security issues. Former Director Michael E. Brown created the Center in 2000. The vision of the center established by current Director Bruce Hoffman is to produce a new generation of analysts, policymakers, and scholars fully knowledgeable about the range of international and national security problems and foreign policy issues of the 21st Century. 

Center for Security Studies — ETH Zurich
The Center for Security Studies (CSS) at ETH Zurich is a center of competence for Swiss and international security policy. It offers security policy expertise in research, teaching, and consulting activities. 

Center for Strategic and International Studies
Established in Washington, D.C. over 50 years ago, the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a bipartisan, nonprofit policy research organization dedicated to providing strategic insights and policy solutions to help decision-makers chart a course toward a better world.
The Centre for International Studies (Ce.S.I. - Centro Studi Internazionali) was founded in Rome (Italy) by Andrea Margelletti, in 2004. The Institute's research activity is centred on national and foreign policy dynamics of countries of major interest for Italy, especially in the wide Middle East, Africa, Asia and Balkans, with a particular focus on security and defence, terrorism, counter-terrorism and intelligence.
Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, is an independent policy institute based in London. The institute carries out independent and rigorous analysis of critical global, regional and country-specific challenges and opportunities.
The Combating Terrorism Center is an independent, privately funded, research and educational institution situated at West Point that contributes to the academic body of knowledge and informs counterterrorism policy and strategy. 

Institute for Security Studies 
The ISS is an African non-profit organisation with offices in South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia and Senegal. Its work covers transnational crimes, migration, peacekeeping, crime prevention and criminal justice, peacebuilding, and the analysis of conflict and governance.
The Institute for the Study of War advances an informed understanding of military affairs through reliable research, trusted analysis, and innovative education. We are committed to improving the nation’s ability to execute military operations and respond to emerging threats in order to achieve U.S. strategic objectives. ISW is a non-partisan, non-profit, public policy research organization.
The International Centre for Counter-Terrorism – The Hague (ICCT) is an independent think and do tank providing multidisciplinary policy advice and practical, solution-oriented implementation support on prevention and the rule of law, two vital pillars of effective counter-terrorism.
Founded in 1996, the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT) is one of the leading academic institutes for counter-terrorism in the world, facilitating international cooperation in the global struggle against terrorism. ICT is an independent think tank providing expertise in terrorism, counter-terrorism, homeland security, threat vulnerability, risk assessment, intelligence analysis, national security and defense policy. 

International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation 
The International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation and Political Violence (ICSR) is an independent and non-partisan research centre based in the Department of War Studies at King’s College London. The aim is to educate the public and help policymakers and practitioners find more intelligent solutions in dealing with radicalisation and political violence.
The Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI) is an independent think tank serving as a resource for government officials, business executives, journalists, civil servants, students and the all wishing to better understand international issues. Founded in Milan in 1934, ISPI approaches international affairs in a sound pragmatic manner, monitoring geopolitical areas as well as major global trends. Comprehensive interdisciplinary analysis is ensured by close collaboration with specialists, academic and non-academic, in political, economic, legal, historical and strategic studies and an ever-growing network of think tanks, research centers and universities in Europe and abroad.
ITSTIME – Italian Team for Security, Terroristic Issues & Managing Emergencies, is a research center of Department of Sociology of the Catholic University of Sacred Heart, Milan. Our multidisciplinary approach allows us to develop and conduct research focused on security issues from different perspectives. ITSTIME addresses both theoretically and empirically the new challenges in the post 9/11 world. 

Program on Extremism 
The Program on Extremism at George Washington University provides analysis on issues related to violent and non-violent extremism. The Program spearheads innovative and thoughtful academic inquiry, producing empirical work that strengthens extremism research as a distinct field of study. The Program aims to develop pragmatic policy solutions that resonate with policymakers, civic leaders, and the general public.
The RAND Corporation is a research organization that develops solutions to public policy challenges to help make communities throughout the world safer and more secure, healthier and more prosperous. RAND is nonprofit, nonpartisan, and committed to the public interest.

RUSI  
The Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) is an independent think tank engaged in cutting edge defence and security research. A unique institution, founded in 1831 by the Duke of Wellington, RUSI embodies nearly two centuries of forward thinking, free discussion and careful reflection on defence and security matters.

The Handa Centre for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence 
The Handa Centre for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence (CSTPV) is dedicated to the study of the causes, dynamics, characteristics and consequences of terrorism and related forms of political violence. In doing so, it is committed to rigorous, evidence-based, scholarly analysis that is policy-relevant but independent. Founded in 1994, the Centre is Europe's oldest for the study of terrorism.
The Institute for National Security Studies launches and engages in innovative, relevant, high-quality research that shapes the public discourse of issues on Israel's national security agenda, and provides policy analysis and recommendations to decision makers, public leaders, and the strategic community, both in Israel and abroad.
The Washington Institute seeks to advance a balanced and realistic understanding of American interests in the Middle East and to promote the policies that secure them.

The CTC Sentinel is a monthly, independent publication that leverages the Center’s global network of scholars and practitioners to understand and confront contemporary threats posed by terrorism and other forms of political violence.
 
The Mediterranean Edition publishes scholarship with a focus on communication and media studies from critical and cultural perspectives, gender studies, media and peace communication, and studies in the role of communication and the media in the resolution of conflict and the promotion of peace.
 
Global Security Studies (GSS) is a premier academic and professional journal for strategic issues involving international security affairs.
 
Homeland Security Affairs is the peer-reviewed online journal of the Naval Postgraduate School Center for Homeland Defense and Security (CHDS), providing a forum to propose and debate strategies, policies, and organizational arrangements to strengthen U.S. homeland security.
 
The IJCV provides a forum for scientific exchange and public dissemination of up-to-date scientific knowledge on conflict and violence.
 
The Journal of Conflict Studies is dedicated to the publication of scholarly research in the field of low-intensity conflict studies.Topics Include:revolutionary or civil war, guerrilla warfare, terrorism, counter-insurgency and counter-terror operations, propaganda and psychological warfare, intelligence activities, media coverage of such conflict, peacekeeping, foreign/military policy, strategic studies as they relate to the field.
 
The Journal of International Security Affairs is the flagship publication of the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA). JINSA is a non-profit, non-partisan educational organization based in Washington, D.C. It is dedicated to explaining the need for a prudent national security policy for the United States, addressing the security requirements of both the United States and the State of Israel, and strengthening the strategic cooperation relationship between these two great democracies.
 
The Journal of Middle East Media (JMEM) is the first peer-reviewed journal dedicated exclusively to research on media in the Middle East. The annual journal, which includes both Arabic and English articles, serves as a pioneering forum for studies, critical debates and multiple perspectives about the continuously changing Middle East media.
 
JNSLP is the world’s only peer-reviewed journal devoted exclusively to security law and policy issues such as cybersecurity, torture, teaching national security law, secrecy, and the laws of war.
 
The Journal of Strategic Security (JSS) provides a multi-disciplinary forum for scholarship and discussion of strategic security issues drawing from the fields of intelligence, terrorism and counterterrorism studies and protection, among others.
 
The aim of JTR is to provide a space for academics and counter-terrorism professionals to publish work focused on the study of terrorism. Given the interdisciplinary nature of the study of terrorism, high-quality submissions from all academic and professional backgrounds are encouraged. Students are also warmly encouraged to submit work for publication.
 
The Middle East Review of International Affairs (MERIA) is a peer-reviewed journal that represents a new approach to the study of the modern Middle East. New Media and Mass Communication is a peer-reviewed journal published by IISTE. The journal publishes original papers at the forefront of Media and Mass Communication Research. The journal is published in both printed and online versions. The online version is free access and download.
 
Perspectives on Terrorism (PT), the peer-reviewed online journal of the Terrorism Research Initiative (TRI), seeks to provide a unique platform for established scholars as well as academics and professionals entering the field of Terrorism, Political Violence and Conflict Studies.
 
Policy Review was the preeminent publication for new and serious thinking and writing about the issues of the day. Established in 1977; the bimonthly journal became a publication of the Hoover Institution, Stanford University, in 2001.

The Cornell International Affairs Review (CIAR), established in fall 2007, is a bi-annual, student-run journal that publishes academic papers from undergraduate students, post-graduate students, experts, and professors in a wide range of fields with a focus on contemporary issues in the international arena.
 
Founded in 1975 and published biannually, The Fletcher Forum of World Affairs is the student-managed foreign policy journal at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. The publication provides a broad, interdisciplinary platform for analysis of legal, political, economic, environmental, and diplomatic issues in international affairs.
 
The Georgetown Journal of International Affairs was founded to serve as an academic resource for scholars, business leaders, policy makers, and students of international relations alike, cultivating a dialogue accessible to those with all levels of knowledge about foreign affairs and international politics.
 
The Harvard National Security Journal (NSJ) is a student-edited online journal dedicated to improving scholarship and discourse in the field of national security.
